Many precautions must be taken when operating an electric winch.
First, always wear appropriate gloves when operating. Gloves must not be loose and must be free of loose threads to prevent them from being caught by machine parts or debris.
Second, avoid abrasion between the winch rope and stones. If necessary, protect the rope with a rope protector.
When the vehicle is looking for an anchor point, find a secure and reliable place on the vehicle to connect with the winch to ensure stability. If a tree is chosen as a fixed point, use a tree hugger to wrap the tree to avoid damaging the bark.
In addition, do not overload the electric winch, otherwise it will cause irreparable damage. Before and after use, check the looseness of the winch mounting bolts, the wear of the winch rope, etc.
Wear thick gloves when operating the cable to prevent burns or abrasions. When towing a vehicle, avoid the vehicle swaying back and forth, causing excessive load on the cable.
During or after use, the surface temperature of the motor is high, do not touch it. When starting to use, the motor may smoke, but it will gradually disappear.
If the cable is deformed, damaged, or worn, it will reduce its strength and is dangerous. A short circuit in the remote control wire may cause the winch to operate unexpectedly. Do not use the equipment if any abnormality is found.
Do not use the winch to lift or move people or objects. When using the winch or remote control device, no one other than the operator should approach. Install the remote control device only when it is in actual use and remove it when not in use.
Pay attention to the condition of the winch drum during use and ensure that the rope is evenly wound. Maintain a certain distance when operating the winch to prevent injury from broken cables.
When using the winch, check the tightness of the anchor point. Do not guide the rope with your hands or other objects if the rope is not neatly wound. You can adjust it by reversing the operation.
Do not use the winch continuously for a long time, generally no more than one minute, to protect the motor.
When performing towing work, the vehicle and the steel wire rope of the electric winch should maintain a straight line. If the angle cannot be adjusted, use a directional pulley.
After use, pack it up and store it in a cool and dry place to avoid moisture and rain.
